I have the Op4whyxe. Even seeing that half page is heartening, as it reminds me how good this little printer is. Could I install it in XP Mode? My still working 4w from now needs a facelift. I’m now trying various config settings on the JD, just to see if the comms problem can be the root of this, but I suspect it’s something more fundamental.

HP themselves say a GDI printer is just not supported in any of the JD series and maybe even they couldn’t get them to work properly. I tried the above driver in W7 64 and had exactly the same problem. My still working 4w from now needs a facelift. BUT, I cannot get the 4w to be recognized yet it appears on the Printer Selection list when hitting Print in an Okidata okipage 4w okidaata, says its working okidata okipage 4w has the right driver, but nothing happens.
Please sign in okipagw comment. Any way of giving it the Task of running the printer? Add Printer calls up the box to select the printer driver to install, but 4w is not listed okidata okipage 4w Win7.

In the meantime the Okudata is hooked okidata okipage 4w to an old networked machine which is only fired up to act as a printer mule. The JDx won’t talk to the printer directly it won’t print out a configuration page in any okidata okipage 4w the okidata okipage 4w choices of printer language availableand that’s probably an indicator of the remaining problem Works well enough for the moment. The thing won’t print more than half a page – but it’s half a page more than it was doing before, so I’m a half-step forward.
I have the Okidata okipage 4w. I’ve tried the driver from the link above with Windows 7 okidata okipage 4w bit and Targus port replicator.
